Library Overview
The Arham Law College Library is a comprehensive resource center designed to support the academic and research needs of our students and faculty. With a spacious area of 1500 sq.ft, the library houses over 900 books, including 54 law textbooks, 266 law reference books, and a wide collection of 349 books on social sciences, management, commerce, and economics. In addition, students have access to specialized journals and periodicals, including local, national, and international law journals. The library also offers a Documentation Room (300 sq.ft) and a Consultancy Room (250 sq.ft) for focused academic and research activities. To enhance the learning experience, the library is equipped with a seating capacity for 60 students, spread across a 664 sq.ft seating area, with 60 chairs available. Students can access a range of online journals and resources through 7 computers dedicated to research and study. With three issue counters for efficient service, our library is a vital space for learning and academic growth.

LIBRARY RULES FOR COLLEGE STUDENTS
Welcome to the college library! To ensure a productive and respectful environment for all students, please adhere to the following rules:
1. GENERAL CONDUCT
- Maintain Silence: The library is a quiet study space. Please maintain silence and avoid loud conversations. Use headphones if listening to audio materials.
- Respect Others: Be considerate of your peers who are studying. Keep noise levels to a minimum and avoid disruptions.
- Use of Mobile Phones: Mobile phones must be kept on silent or vibrate mode. Please take calls outside the library.
- Eating and Drinking: Food and beverages are not permitted in the library. This helps maintain cleanliness and protects library materials.
2. LIBRARY TIMINGS
- Operating Hours: The library is open from Monday to Saturday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
- Closed on Sundays and Public Holidays.
3. BORROWING BOOKS AND MATERIALS
- Library Card: To borrow books or other resources, a valid library card must be presented.
- Books Loan Period: The standard loan period for books is 14 days, after which they must be returned or renewed. Failure to return books on time may incur fines.
- Renewal: Books can be renewed online through the library portal if they are not reserved by other students.
- Max Limit for Borrowing: Students can borrow up to 5 books at a time.
- Reservation of Books: If the book you need is already borrowed, you can place a reservation. You will be notified when the book becomes available.
- Return Condition: Books must be returned in good condition. Damaged or lost books must be replaced or paid for according to library policy
4. COMPUTER AND INTERNET USAGE
- Internet Access: Computers are available for academic use, including research, accessing e-journals, and academic websites. Personal browsing is discouraged.
- Time Limit: There is a time limit of 1 hour per session for computer use, which may be extended if no other students are waiting.
- Printing and Photocopying: Printing and photocopying services are available at thelibrary for academic use. Charges will apply
5. REFERENCE AND STUDY MATERIALS
- Reference Section: Reference materials (encyclopedias, dictionaries, etc.) are not available for borrowing and must be used within the library premises.
- Reserved Books: Some books may be marked as "reserved" for specific courses or faculty. These books must be returned within the day they are borrowed.
- Electronic Resources: The library provides access to e-journals, e-books, and other online resources. Please use these resources responsibly and avoid misuse or downloading unauthorized content.
6. LIBRARY BEHAVIOR
- Personal Belongings: Personal belongings (bags, backpacks, etc.) must be stored in designated areas. Only essential items such as notebooks, laptops, and pens should be brought inside the library.
- Library Materials: Please handle library materials with care. Do not mark, tear, or deface books or any other resources. Any damage to library materials must be reported immediately.
- Noise-Free Environment: Please refrain from making any noise that may disturb other library users. If a discussion is necessary, please use designated areas for group work.
7. FINES AND PENALTIES
- Late Return of Books: A fine of ₹10 per day will be charged for late return of books.
- Damage or Loss of Library Materials: Any damage or loss of books will result in a fine or the cost of replacing the book (whichever is applicable). In case of damage to electronic resources, a fine will be determined based on the extent of damage.
- Violation of Library Rules: Repeated violations of library rules may lead to temporary suspension of library privileges.
8. SPECIAL LIBRARY SERVICES
- Study Rooms: Group study rooms are available for group discussions or projects. Please book a room in advance through the library portal.
- Reference Assistance: Library staff is available to assist with finding resources and conducting research. Don't hesitate to ask for help if needed.
9. LIBRARY MEMBERSHIP
- Open to All Students: All enrolled students of the college are eligible for librarymembership.
- Temporary Users: Faculty and staff may access the library with prior approval.
- Guest Access: External visitors may access the library for reference purposes, subject to approval.
10. LIBRARY SECURITY
- Identification Check: All students must carry their library card or college ID while in the library. Library staff may ask for identification if needed.
- Exit Check: Library staff may conduct random checks while you are leaving to ensure no library materials are being taken without being properly checked out.
